Rojina McDonald is the vibrant CEO and creative director of Soul Publishing.
Rojina’s interest in food and wine started at a young age, during her childhood growing up on her family’s olive grove in McLaren Vale. While in secondary school, she worked part-time and completed a traineeship at the local continental delicatessen. After a short time in retail, Rojina completed a certificate in small business management which enabled her to start her small business ‘Cupcakes by Rojina McDonald’. With her business recognised as demonstrating a creativity and passion for the culinary arts, Rojina was awarded the Basic Patisserie Scholarship at Le Cordon Bleu London – an honour bestowed to only one applicant worldwide each year. In the same year, she was awarded Young Entrepreneur of the Year by the McLaren Vale Business Association. In 2017, Rojina received a scholarship to participate in the inaugural Fleurieu Future Leaders Program, which provided her with the skills she needed to become a highly effective leader in her community.
Although it was not the initial reason for starting her own business, being a positive role model for others who want to pursue their dream has become an important aspect of Rojina’s endeavour – leading her to become a public speaker.
Underpinning her overflowing passion and drive is a gratitude for the opportunities she’s embraced, the support of her family and friends, and her McLaren Vale upbringing.
Rojina loves to share her story and inspire others to follow their dreams, which has seen her take on the role of public speaker – most recently as keynote speaker at the Le Cordon Bleu graduation in Adelaide.
