We’re in Selector magazine – twice!
We are absolutely thrilled to be featured in Selector magazine not just once, but twice!
Selector is the highest circulating food and wine magazine in Australia, so to see Faces & Food of the Fleurieu featured in the June issue was amazing. To then have the opportunity to co-write a four-page feature on McLaren Vale with the wonderful Heather Millar for the July issue was beyond exciting!
This all came about through a chance meeting at the Willunga Farmers Market a little while back – another one of those fortunate encounters that just seem meant to be. I was chatting to my friend Sarah Flew and it turns out we were sitting opposite Greg Walls, the founder and director of Selector, and his lovely wife who were visiting from Sydney.
Next thing I knew, Greg and I were exchanging publications. After having a flick through Faces & Food of the Fleurieu, Greg happily said that he would ask his team to do a book review in the next issue of Selector.
Two weeks later, I received an email from Greg saying that he loved the book so much that he wanted to swap the book review for a two-page feature on Faces & Food, including one of our recipes. The final article included the delicious recipe from Vasarelli Cellar Door Restaurant.
Then came the most exciting part – an email from Selector’s editor asking me to write an article on McLaren Vale for the travel section of the July issue. Heather and I wanted to excite Selector’s wine-loving readers about our region’s wines and inspire them to plan a trip to McLaren Vale. We hope the article – No Place Like Home – encourages many people to come and enjoy our incredible food, wine and lifestyle here on the Fleurieu.
It just seems like such perfect timing as we continue working on our new book Wine, Beer & Spirits of the Fleurieu!
The July issue of Selector is out now.
